If you’re looking for interim CFO level services for your startup, my team would be happy to help!
I’m a CPA and the founder of Kruze Consulting, one of the leading providers of part time CFO services to venture funded startups. My team provides CFO, Controller, accountant and bookkeeper level services to over a hundred funded companies in Silicon Valley and beyond. We can do everything from basic bookkeeping to board preparation to strategic fund raising advisory - in fact, our clients have raised over half a billion in venture capital funding in the past 12 months.
We’ve also built a CFO match making service for startups looking for part-time CFO help. Select any of the Chief Financial Officers who you think might be a good fit for your company, and we’ll help you get in touch! Part time finance help is the right answer for a large number of early-stage businesses, where the cost (and workload) don’t justify a full time hire. Plus, many fractional CFOs bring deep fundraising expertise and contacts. With part time financial experts in Silicon Valley, San Francisco, New York, Boston, and beyond, we should have the right senior financial help that you need.
My team also provides recurring monthly bookkeeping, financial modeling, venture capital and venture debt consulting, 409A valuations, and tax advice. We are totally focused on working with funded Delaware C-Corps; no coffee shops or law firms as clients, just high growth companies.
What does a Silicon Valley CFO do?
Silicon Valley is pretty unique… the companies built here aren’t like anywhere else on the planet. As businesses here scale, the financial advice that founders need goes beyond simple bookkeeping. As a CEO, you should be seeking to partner with a CFO who will provide provide tactical and strategic support in all aspects of your company’s finances. Here are some of the tasks you should expect your CFO to handle:
- Directing all aspects of accounting operations
- Coordinating and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports (it’s very normal, and quite budget conscious, to have an outsourced bookkeeping firm actually prepare the books at this stage, but the CFO can manage the bookkeeping firm for you)
- Overseeing stock administration - one of the many things that is quite common in Silicon Valley, but not in the rest of the world
- Overseeing and managing the company’s finance IT system and choosing appropriate software programs & processes based on unique needs - for example, you may be nearing a point in your company’s growth where upgrading from QuickBooks Online to Netsuite makes sense
- Leading financial planning and budgeting
- Providing strategic guidance around fund raising, and leading a fund raising strategy
