It’s another busy tax season - and here at Kruze Consulting, we are working hard to make this time of the year go smoothly. Apart from this guide to Tax Returns for seed-stage startups, we want to remind you of the coming tax deadlines - turns out, Friday, Jan 31st is a big day!

Make sure you are complying with your specific city’s specific filings!

ATLANTA

  • Send 1099’s to Contractors. Send W2’s to Employees. 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation must also be e-filed to IRS on this date.
  • File Form 8809 for a 30-day extension to file W2’s and 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation.
  • Send 1095-B and 1095-C forms to Employees.
  • Claim Research and Development Tax Credits on Form 941, and file annual FUTA return on Form 940.

AUSTIN

  • Send 1099’s to Contractors. Send W2’s to Employees. 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation must also be e-filed to IRS on this date.
  • File Form 8809 for a 30-day extension to file W2’s and 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation.
  • Send 1095-B and 1095-C forms to Employees.

  • Prior year Travis County Property Taxes deadline.

BOSTON

  • Send 1099’s to Contractors. Send W2’s to Employees. 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation must also be e-filed to IRS on this date.
  • File Form 8809 for a 30-day extension to file W2’s and 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation.
  • Send 1095-B and 1095-C forms to Employees.
  • Claim R&D Tax Credits on Form 941, and file annual FUTA return on Form 940.

NEW YORK

  • Send 1099’s to Contractors. Send W2’s to Employees. 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation must also be e-filed to IRS on this date.
  • File Form 8809 for a 30-day extension to file W2’s and 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation.
  • Send 1095-B and 1095-C forms to Employees.
  • Claim your R&D Tax Credits on Form 941, and file annual FUTA return on Form 940.
  • Quarterly NY State Payroll Taxes Form NYS-45 deadline for 2019 Q4.

PALO ALTO

  • Send 1099’s to Contractors. Send W2’s to Employees. 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation must also be e-filed to IRS on this date.
  • File Form 8809 for a 30-day extension to file W2’s and 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation.
  • Send 1095-B and 1095-C forms to Employees.
  • Claim R&D Tax Credits on Form 941, and file annual FUTA return on Form 940.

SALT LAKE CITY

  • Send 1099’s to Contractors. Send W2’s to Employees. 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation must also be e-filed to IRS on this date.
  • File Form 8809 for a 30-day extension to file W2’s and 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation.
  • Send 1095-B and 1095-C forms to Employees.
  • Claim R&D Tax Credits on Form 941, and file annual FUTA return on Form 940.
  • File your Sales and Use Tax Return. File Form TC-62S (Single Place of Business) or Form TC-62M (Multiple Places of Business).
  • Annual Sales and Use Tax payment due for annual filers. Q4 2019 Sales and Use Tax payment due for quarterly filers.

SAN FRANCISCO

  • Send 1099’s to Contractors. Send W2’s to Employees. 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation must also be e-filed to IRS on this date.
  • File Form 8809 for a 30-day extension to file W2’s and 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation.
  • Send 1095-B and 1095-C forms to Employees.
  • Claim R&D Tax Credits on Form 941, and deadline to file annual FUTA return on Form 940.

SANTA MONICA

  • Send 1099’s to Contractors. Send W2’s to Employees. 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation must also be e-filed to IRS on this date.
  • File Form 8809 for a 30-day extension to file W2’s and 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation.
  • Send 1095-B and 1095-C forms to Employees.
  • Claim R&D Tax Credits on Form 941, and file annual FUTA return on Form 940.

SEATTLE

  • Send 1099’s to Contractors. Send W2’s to Employees. 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation must also be e-filed to IRS on this date.
  • File Form 8809 for a 30-day extension to file W2’s and 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation.
  • Send 1095-B and 1095-C forms to Employees.
  • Claim R&D Tax Credits on Form 941, and file annual FUTA return on Form 940.
  • Seattle 2019 Business License Tax deadline for Annual Filers (gross receipts between 100,000 to 200,000) and (up to 0.427% of gross revenue in 2018).
  • Seattle Q4 2019 Business License Tax for Quarterly Filers (gross receipts more than 200,000)
  • Washington Q4 2019 State Fund Quarterly Report (Payroll Tax).

WASHINGTON DC

  • Send 1099’s to Contractors. Send W2’s to Employees. 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation must also be e-filed to IRS on this date.
  • File Form 8809 for a 30-day extension to file W2’s and 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation.
  • Send 1095-B and 1095-C forms to Employees.
  • Claim R&D Tax Credits on Form 941, and file annual FUTA return on Form 940.
