SnapAttack is a cybersecurity leader dedicated to providing innovative solutions that enhance threat-hunting and detection capabilities for customers globally. With a focus on commercial, international, and government customers, SnapAttack has a global footprint that drives superior security outcomes for its customers. SnapAttack partners with major security information and event management (SIEM) and endpoint detection and response (EDR) vendors to help customers enhance their security and optimize their tooling to improve their security posture.
During its three-year journey as a VC-backed startup, SnapAttack used AI and machine learning to analyze its clients’ ability to detect cyber threats and make recommendations to help organizations develop effective detection strategies and stay ahead of threats.
SnapAttack relied on another outsourced accounting firm before working with Kruze Consulting, but had issues with their service model.
“Our previous firm was too ad-hoc in handling our accounting,” said Chief Operating Officer Clayton Barlow-Wilcox. “Their costs were increasing since they didn’t have a formal approach, and they required too much of our input to close the books each month and handle other financial duties. It was becoming an expensive drain on resources.”
"We found Kruze through some helpful videos on core financial topics that have been posted at kruzeconsulting.com, ... The information was very accessible and included good guidance, so we figured we’d try them out."
Kruze proved to be a better fit for SnapAttack
“Kruze applied a more rigorous, repeatable, and timely approach to our accounting at a better cost,” Barlow-Wilcox said. “We get all we need at a basic level, since we’re still a small but growing startup. Then, as needed, we can plug into the Kruze team for additional assistance. This helps keep costs down, but allows us to pull key experts into specific situations, and that balance has been a great differentiator for us.”
"Our leadership team was able to focus more time on core capabilities, like capturing new business, onboarding new customers, and delivering on our mission, which is to make companies safer by helping them improve their threat detection and response capabilities."
Barlow-Wilcox noted some of the advantages for SnapAttack of working with Kruze included:
Working with Kruze helped SnapAttack’s growth
SnapAttack consulted the Kruze tax team for information about tax credits, Form 1099 non-employment income, and other tax issues that startups encounter. “The tax advisory team was accessible, helpful, and very communicative,” Barlow-Wilcox said.
In January 2025, SnapAttack was acquired by Cisco, to take advantage of SnapAttack’s threat detection and engineering technology, to help Cisco accelerate its organic threat detection content and engineering roadmap.

Kruze was a key partner as part of our company’s acquisition, with folks across the team supporting last-minute requests and late nights when needed.
The consistency of their communication and approach throughout our company’s journey made everyone’s job easier as we moved into the transition process. We appreciated their support throughout the process and Kruze will be our first call when starting another company.
