What is the most user friendly accounting software for startups?

Kruze Consulting Startup Q&A Author
Vanessa Kruze Founder, CPA

At Kruze Consulting, we have 135 startup clients and are power users of accounting software. We handle Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, HR and Tax and have software recommendations in each category below:

Quickbooks - the granddaddy of them all but still the best accounting system. Although Xero is improving a lot and deserves consideration. We use Xero in our practice for about 10% of the clients but Quickbooks has 90% market share. The online version is improving rapidly.

Zenpayroll - super duper easy and affordable payroll. Set it and forget it with their autopilot feature.

Bill.com - get rid of all your paper invoices and bills. Forward the invoices into Bill.com and you can easily pay and monitor bills in one spot. Plus it integrates with Quickbooks.

Zenefits - simple HR solution which is perfect for startups. Process all your offer letters, manage PTO and Sick Days and easily select your benefit packages.

Abacus - new but very intuitive expense management system.

Best of breed is so powerful and has allowed us to scale incredibly fast. Hope this helps everyone!
